Persistent (Chronic) Pain

We specialize in the treatment of pain. We can help relieve chronic pain, which is defined as pain that has lasted more than six months. Our owner, Allison Suran, PT, GCFP, TPS completed her Certification as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist in June of 2016 and has trained her staff in this evidence-based approach of PAIN NEUROSCIENCE EDUCATION (PNE).

Our pain Program includes:

– Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE): Extensive education about the causes of persistent/chronic pain and strategies to decrease the nervous systems hypersensitivity.
– Understand how your particular and unique diagnosis has created pain beyond the normal healing phase of 0-3 months (maximum of 6 months).
– We help you learn to move safely without painful flare-ups
– Helping you reach your unique goals: whether its gardening, being able to clean and grocery shop, or more advanced goals of hiking, skiing, and outdoor playing, we know how to help you have LESS PAIN and MORE LIFE!
– We also employ techniques to help decrease your pain, muscles spasms or tightness which may include Feldenkrais®, Watsu, Cranio-sacral therapy, hands-on manual therapy, massage and more.
– Learning relaxation, breathing or mindfulness strategies to help re-regulate your sensitive system.                                                                                                                                     –CALM YOUR PAIN program for Healing Bridge patients can be part of a comprehensive pain program.

We know and understand that your pain is REAL! Science has now proven that the nervous system can become overly sensitized and feed into and actually aggravate and exacerbate pain. We take time to listen to the unique story of your pain experience and develop a customized solution.
